
Hang Li is currently on the Piano and Chamber-Music faculty of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Pre-college Division. Ms Li is an active piano performer, instructor as well as musical adjudicator. Most recently she served as judges panel at US Open Music Competition, Pacific Music Society Piano Competition, 2015 International Young Pianist Competition. Ms Li also gives master classes and seminars throughout the years.
Ms. Hang Li premiered Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No.2 with Shanghai Symphony Orchestra at Shanghai Concert Hall in 1997. Her Beijing Concert Hall debut, performing Chinese contemporary piano works, received glowing notices in 1996. She has made appearance extensively throughout China, US and Europe. Before coming to the US, Ms. Li was the youngest lecturer at the Central Conservatory of Music, China, and the youngest member in the judging committee of the Piano Performance Certificate administered by the Chinese Musician's Association in Beijing.
Ms. Li received her Master of Music from San Francisco Conservatory of Music; Bachelor of Art from Central Conservatory of Music(中央音乐学院), Beijing, China; Artist Certificate from Southern Methodist University in Dallas; and Artist Diploma from the prestigious Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy.
Her teachers include the eminent pianist Joaquín Achúcarro, Professor Mack McCray(Chair, Piano Department of San Francisco Conservatory of Music) and the most famous piano educators in China, Zhou Guangren , Li Qifang and Ling Yuan.
Ms. Li has taught at TOP Pre-College Music School, Coppell Conservatory, Dallas School of Music and Yew Chung International School. Her students have received numerous awards in competitions. Many students have passed the (MTAC) Certificate of Merit Advanced Level and the Advanced Panel with honors. Her capability and quality of teaching are beloved by her students and their parents. Ms. Li is an active member of National Music Teacher Association, Music Teachers' Association of California, American College of Musicians. She also runs Hang Li Piano Studio in Palo Alto, California.
